Undeniably infectious beats, charismatic, thought provoking lyrics and a dynamic live set have propelled Ottawa-based, touring hip-hop duo Philly Moves into one of Canada's brightest up and coming acts. Their debut LP "Basics to Back it" was officially released in September of 2009 and entered the Canadian college hip-hop charts with great success; in total it charted in ten different markets country-wide and at one time charted simultaneously in seven places. As well, the album maintained a top ten spot in at least one market for more than four months consecutively, charting as early as Aug. of 2009 (#2 Windsor, On) and as lately as May of 2010 (#1 Kamloops, BC) and cracking hip-hop's Canada-wide top ten for the month of December 2009. Using this momentum Philly Moves booked and managed their own coast to coast Canadian tour in the spring of 2010, playing more than twenty dates and ten radio spots over almost 40 days from East (Charlottetown PEI) to West (Victoria BC), sending waves through the local scene wherever they went.

With a brand new EP and video recently released, shows being booked regularly, a showcase opportunity at Canadian Music Week looming and the business side of hip-hop adding to their growing workload, the pair has taken the term independent to a whole new level. Everything from production, songwriting, design work, booking and management is done in-house begging the question; what could these two accomplish with professional help? Fresh, positive and unmistakeably Canadian with a style that screams golden age, Philly Moves hopes to build on their recent success and secure a career devoted to the growth of the global, national and local hip-hop community. This mission, combined with their unwavering enthusiasm and undeniable talent, ensures that, for these two, the sky truly is the limit.
